🚧 Roads & Traffic
There's a pothole
Almost every street in Irmo belongs to SCDOT, Lexington County, Richland County or a neighborhood, not the Town. Not sure who owns yours? Call Town Hall and staff can help.
Call Lexington County Public Works, Transportation Division. They repair county roads, dirt roads, drainage ditches, signs and roadside vegetation. There's no online form, so call.
Call the Richland County Ombudsman, who routes road problems to Roads & Drainage. You can also call Roads & Drainage directly at 803-576-2400.
Most main roads in Irmo, like St. Andrews Rd, Lake Murray Blvd and Broad River Rd, are state roads. Report potholes to SCDOT online or call 855-GO-SCDOT (803-737-1200), weekdays 8:30-5.

🏠 Neighborhood & Safety
There's a loud noise or nuisance
It’s unlawful to make unnecessarily and excessively loud noise that disturbs the peace of the town. That includes noise from cars, fireworks, machines, electronics, speakers and voices.
There’s no set decibel limit. Police and the court weigh:
- how loud it is
- what kind of area it’s in
- the time of day or night
- how much quiet neighbors can reasonably expect
- whether anyone already asked for it to stop
- for vehicles, whether the muffler is louder than the factory original
Construction with a building permit is allowed Monday–Friday 7 a.m.–7 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Work you can hear next door outside those hours counts under the noise rule unless the zoning administrator approved it.
